Teachable moment No: 2

Salisbury's Blog Club must have been fun today. Bev's new camera has snapped the pupils and they've added their pictures to their own posts on the front page.
Fame at last :-)
However, one of them added their date of birth. Here's me sitting watching this all happen and suddenly I'm feeling uneasy. So, I go with my gut feeling and decide to edit out the D.O.B. I feel it's a little too much information. Not that I think their identity is going to be robbed, but it could be. Not that I think that a 'stranger' is going to approach the kid out side the school gates on their birthday, but they could.
It's one of two teachable moments. The last was editing out an email address.

New customer

Phooo. I've been that busy deep up to my arms in oily dirty code. Hadn't chance to announce and welcome our newest customer. Walsall Wood. And they've taken to it like a duck to water. With posts for Book Week and most beautifully, three proud winners of Pupil of the Week. And yesterday, the dreaded SATs revision.
I say dreaded because my 7 year old daughter has already developed the SATs exam fear :-(
