A trip to Church Stretton
We took our bikes and a kite and a football. And our fishing nets and... But I forgot out coats! Luckily we had a bag of dirty laundry on its way to the laundrette.

We saw some gliders taking off, at the top of Long Myndd. Played with the stunt kite for a bit. But that's hard, and it crashed very hard! Threw sheep poo at each other, I caught one in the ear. Bradley's a good shot!

Damned fine fun, all in all.

Beware where you blog
There are more and more free blogging services popping up everyday. I know, I see them in my spam filters. Web spammers set up free pages, they'll put their nefarious products, perhaps Google's Adsense, or they'll redirect from the free page to their regular site.

Either way, the free service is being used, not good for the free service. Though they may think that more linkage is more viral, they'll find themselves being banned from search engines.

For my part, I too ban some of these free services from leaving trackbacks or comments here. I know may other services who do the same.

Then, there's the number of school authorities who'll ban you outright.

Will it all be clearer now?
Telegraph: Rising star Kelly was burnt out by school battles: "Miss Kelly defied the odds to hold on to her job, but the "not really up to it" label stuck."

The new Education Secretary is popular with the AUT, he gave them a bigger pay increase... "Commenting on Mr Johnson’s appointment, AUT general secretary, Sally Hunt, said:

“Alan Johnson is a hugely respected MP and minister and, of course, a former trade union leader. The current pay dispute is at a critical stage and we are very fortunate that the man who told the truth about universities’ commitment to staff pay is back in education."

If you need more background on the man... eGov has it.

ScotEduBlog Meetup
May 24: "We are trying to arrange for a wee meetup of Scottish edubloggers, educators, noneducating bloggers - anyone who fancies some nice drinks with some nice people. It'll be this May 24 in Edinburgh, with our inaugural guest as Will Richardson."

Probably too far for me to travel, just for a couple of hours.

The Sun says...
The Sun: Ban for ice cream vans: Pinky and Perky's ice cream van "Ice cream sellers face meltdown due to tough new laws stopping them parking near schools.

MPs and health officials want a clampdown on the vans operating by schools, for health reasons."

I remember buying single fags from down my tuck shop. The world is changing, for the better, though it may seem sad initially.
