eSchool News: Pearson buys Chancery Software: "Chancery is the second largest SIS provider to United States schools in terms of revenue, with an installed base of 6,000 schools and recognized capabilities in building, installing, and supporting customized systems for large school districts. Pearson is the market leader in the SIS business, with an installed based of more than 16,000 schools. PowerSchool, reportedly the third largest SIS provider in terms of revenue, counts about 7,200 small-to-medium-sized schools as its customers."

TV dinner
BBC: Child TV and computer use warning: "Children spend two-and-a-half months on average each year staring at screens."

I'm getting better at distracting my kids away from the TV. But don't mind so much them being on the Internet.

£45 to visit the doctor?
Guardian: £6,000 premium for naughty children: "Parents bear the bulk of the costs, carrying out an estimated £4,526 worth of extra housework each year, or eight hours a week, clearing up after their unruly child."

And my bad back, all that bending down... :-(
