Funny picture
Croft Community School: Dr. Kenn Shows Croft the ways of the Force.: "Finally he got one of the teachers involved. Mr. Prosser got the fright of his life when he was given a 8 foot unicycle to ride. But luckily for Mr. Prosser he only had to hold the cycle."

You gotta see the picture of Mr Prosser, bike and Dr Kenn :-)

Salisbury's blog club
A ton of updates from Bev's Blog Club. I've got to comment on a few of them, little bit of encouragement from Telford. If anybody else can think of something nice to say, please do. It does make them happy :-)

Email to blog thingy
This in via email from my lovely customer in Australia:
Steve,
Just a comment.

The email to blog thingy really is a great tool. It just makes it so easy to send a bunch of pics to the blog, sit back and wait and then in a few minutes you've got a fully thumb nailed blog post ready to go.

Very cool, especially when you are receiving mails from others with pictures. They send me their reports. I simple edit the text and forward it on with the pics attached.
Too easy.

Now, if there's anybody with a blog here, who hasn't tried this, just go to your Editors only: ==> Prefs ==> Mail to Weblog and check out your preferences. Make sure any email addresses you want to send from are in the allowed list, and send to the secret email address that's on that page.

It's up to you if you want emails to go straight onto the front page, or if you want them to hang in the pending news items, to edit later. I like them to go straight on to the front when I send from my mobile phone, as I don't usually know when I'll next be in front of a computer. But sometimes when I'm at my computer and I've a lot to do and want a short cut, I switch off posting straight to the front, temporarily.

Remember, it has to be plain old text! Any problems, give me a call 01952 271 671

Three footie matches
This made me laugh out loud! Football Matches at Croft.: "With one lose and one win for Croft it was on to the final game, the news of a Croft win must have spread to the community as more suporters turned up for the final game..."

I've a picture of crowds drawing up to the school gates, hundreds and hundreds! Maybe not :-)

Can't stand football me, but this is an excellent report from Matt at Walsall's Croft Community Primary.

Alma Mater at Salisbury
A past successful pupil has been in touch at Salisbury—through their website of course :-) I see a lot of this from other schools in our family too, pupils who move schools come back to say hello through the email feature. I think it's nice to hear from them, and I don't even know who they are, just me earwigging in my monitoring capacity.

Flap jacks in morning, newts at night
Sounds like a great morning yesterday at Craig y Don. All that chattering of parents, grand parents and friends. Nice pix too.

Then, a nature evening. With newts! Yeuch. Or is it Yuch y vee?

Man, they have loads of fun at Craig y Don.

Perfect example
Llandudno's Ysgol Craig y Don: Penrhyn Castle visit History Llandudno: "Our school trip was a success because we learnt lots more information about Queen Victoria and what happened during her reign , about poor people and rich people, including Lord Penrhyn and Lady Penrhyn. We also learnt about some of the servants such as the Ladies Maid, Valets, the Cook and many more servants."

Love it! 10 year old blogging! With links too! Links send people away from your site, and they come back again and again.

Brilliant! Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

More traffic = more ad inventory
This is a good page to check, everyday: Most read yesterday
Top ten:
Just the CPMs

Let's see what sort of ad inventory they'd have. Using the different sized adverts with different CPM (Cost Per Thousand) They add up to £108 CPM (per 1,000) or 10.8 pence (per page).

Craig y Don
799 x 365 x 10.8p = £31,496.58
Pudsey Grangefield Maths & Computing College
562 x 365 x 10.8p = £22,154.04
Waterloo Primary School
239 x 365 x 10.8p = £9,421.38
Croft Community School
154 x 365 x 10.8p = £6,070.68
King's Hill Primary
140 x 365 x 10.8p = £5,518.80
Bodnant Infants
131 x 365 x 10.8p = £5,164.02
Beechdale Primary School
128 x 365 x 10.8p = £5,045,76
Rough Hay Primary
117 x 365 x 10.8p = £4,612.14
Salisbury Primary
109 x 365 x 10.8p = £4,296.78

Craig y Don, aren't doing anything special, just posting more often. If they can triple their posting rate, they'll probably triple their traffic, and triple their ad inventory. If they can quadruple... :-)

That's a lot of ads to sell.

Secondary school's day
Pudsey Grangefield near Leeds, had an open day. Their Deputy Head has posted a load of good pictures of the night, but not a lot of text. I wonder what happened?

Got to get him to do this via email, lots easier :-) Not that posting as he's done isn't difficult. I just want more information coming out, if it's as simple as sending an email with attachments, that's got to be quicker.
Quicker = easier.
Easier = more?

No child left behind?
Figures show no drop in primary class sizes: "In 2002, 17.8% of pupils in primary schools were in classes of 31 or more pupils."

Better think about on-line tutoring in India then :-(
