Captions and departments
Captions and departments
Another quick note to a user that's worth sharing publicly.
Captions.
You've got choices. You can:
Departments
If some of your news items aren't assigned to a department (see the greyed out text under each item). It's worth it, to go back to each one and assign them properly to a dept. You can change/swap depts too. Just hit the greyed out edit under each link, pick the right dept from the drop down box. Post changes.
You can change the names or add other depts. Editors only: ==> News items ==> Departments
A link to the department is only shown on the front page if there's a news item posted there.
Keep up the good work :-) Get other staff in on the joke too. The joke? It looks really professional and hard work, but takes seconds to email in a news item with pictures, or links.
Captions.
You've got choices. You can:
-
Change the file name from MVS.123.jpg to We had great fun.jpg This is the best way, but takes some prepping
- Add [nc] for no captions in the subject line of your email, anywhere, usually at the end. When you're in a hurry.
- Hit the blue edit link to change each caption. But this takes a while, back and forth, waiting for the page reloads.
- Delete the -c at the end of each "123-shortcut-c" This turns it into a captionless picture. [nc] is quicker, but if you forget, a quick way to clean up.
