Keep private

Pupils are not your Facebook friends, net privacy expert warns teachers: "Teachers are being warned not to "friend" pupils on Facebook amid concerns over the blurring of boundaries between school staff's professional and private lives."

Shut down all the privacy options. Do not respond to pupils, parents or colleagues' friends requests. Just allow your best, real world mates in as friends. And remember, even then, your status updates may come back to haunt you.
